We will celebrate the life and art of long-time Fayette resident Sarah Aronson with a Tea and the sale of her beautiful floral paintings.  Sarah’s art was generously donated by her daughter Jean Kassel to support the Starling Hall renovations efforts of FOSH.  All paintings will be sold by donation, there are an estimated 75 paintings.

There will be a memorial table with photographs of Sarah and printed cards for each guest. Jean will be in attendance to speak about her mother and share stories of how Sarah combined her loves of nature and the arts.

Sarah Aronson, known locally as The Queen of Lovejoy Pond, lived to have the honor of being the oldest person in Fayette.  She passed away on August 5, 2023 at the age of 102.  She was first inspired to paint while attending college when Sarah took an art class from a well-known Japanese watercolorist.  Sarah’s keen imagination allowed her to interpret from Maine flowers evidence of wood sprites and fairies as is reflected in some of her written work and her art. In her later years Sarah enjoyed time in her cottage by Lovejoy Pond painting flowers, often provided by her garden, and writing poetry.

Friends of Starling Hall have been told Sarah would be happy to know that her paintings are gracing homes and businesses while helping to bring Starling Hall back to life for the enrichment of the greater Fayette community of families and friends.

Tea, fruit punch and light desserts will be served.
