Guest speaker at 930am Bob Capers

Bob has a Ph.D. in Botany from the University of Connecticut, where he worked for 10 years, mostly doing research, and running the herbarium, which is a collection of preserved plants (like a library of specimens) — about 200,000 specimens now. They’re used for research and education. He also spent two years working for the state on invasive aquatic plants in Connecticut lakes. Most of his research now involves alpine plants and how climate change will affect our alpine communities.
