Guest speaker, Barbara Chisholm will be hosting a presentation on lookout for loons at 9:30 a.m.
Learn more about one of Maine’s favorite residents – the common loon. Participants attending the presentation or stopping by the Look Out for Loons table will learn about the life and behaviors of this incredible bird that winters on our coasts and raises its young on our lakes and ponds. An important part of the discussion is what individual lake users and residents can do to ensure that loons continue to thrive for generations into the future. The Look Out for Loons Presentation and Information is provided by Barbara Chisholm. Barbara is a resident of Lovejoy Pond involved with the Annual Loon Count and a Look Out for Loons volunteer with the Maine Loon Restoration Project. This project is a statewide effort focused on reducing loon disturbance and improving nesting success.
