Community Is Alive and Well in Fayette, Maine

On November 5, 2024 Fayette residents will be asked to vote for or against the sale of Starling Hall in 2025. The Fayette Board of Selectmen scheduled Public Hearings to give residents an opportunity to hear the pros and cons of such a sale.  During the first of these hearings numerous residents came forward, with sincerity and heartwarming passion, to ask fellow residents and the Board of Selectmen to take a stand in favor of keeping our beloved former Grange Hall.  The one common thread of each remark was the word COMMUNITY.

Starling Hall offers all Fayette residents a place to gather for a wide variety of reasons be they for family events, scouting activities, Town meetings or voting, senior gatherings for warmth and/or camaraderie, fundraising for individuals or organizations with special needs, or just to have fun on a Friday evening.  Starling Hall offers us a chance to gather for any reason as a COMMUNITY.

Where in Fayette is there another building that speaks so clearly to the history of Fayette, the interests of our residents and the needs of our Town?  There is no such place. This is why you are asked to Vote ‘No’ on November 5th and allow Starling Hall to continue to remind us that as Fayette residents we are all part of a comfortable, interesting COMMUNITY.

Please come to the next Public Hearing on Tuesday, September 3rd AT STARLING HALL.  Visit the Hall and share your enthusiasm for keeping it part of our COMMUNITY.

Thank you.
